It is a story of hunt, damnation and abandon.
Novossiltsev Estate, close to the town of Mtsensk in Russia, was before the Russian Revolution the property of the Netchaev family. It has been transformed during the Soviet period into a sanatorium that operated for almost a 100 years. A couple of years ago, sick patients were still treated there for tuberculosis.
The Reds chasing the Whites, the Whites damned, the TB patients damned. And today, a state that has nor the means neither the will to renovate and maintain his cultural heritage. Nationalization, privatization, history blows, man flickers.
Today, the house is taking a new lease of life, and a revenge on history. The French descendant of the family and heir of the house is to renovate it fully in the coming years. Simply using paints and plaster, he will cover again the history and invent another one. History is crumbling, history is fading. Who remembers?
